This book is a personal collection of photographs spanning the last eight years of the Interactive Flying Displays (IFDs). Very much a personal selection, it isn’t intended as a comprehensive history of the IFDs, though it certainly is the most comprehensive one in print! The text has been compiled and edited by James Kightly, professional aviation journalist and RAAF Museum volunteer.
This is a 100 page book from 2013-2020 and features pilot bios, aircraft overviews and individual aircraft histories that have all attended the IFDs. Aircraft histories include RAF RE8 Replica VH-OTF, Sopwith Snipe Replica VH-SNP, Sopwith Pup Replica VH-PSP, de Havilland Tiger Moth VH-AWA, North American Harvard VH-HVD, North American SNJ-5B VH-OVO, North American Harvard IIB VH-TXN, Curtiss P-40N Kittyhawk VH-ZOC, Curtiss P-40F Warhawk VH-HWK, CAC Mustang VH-JUC, CAC Mustang VH-SVU, Chance Vought Corsair VH-III, Cessna O-1G Birddog VH-FXY, Winjeel VH-WJE, Winjeel VH-FTS & CT-4A VH-NZP.
